Steven Pottenger


Steven was a competitive skater for 20 years, competing in both freestyle and pairs. He is a 13 time national competitor and was a member of Team USA. He is also a 4 time national medalist including 2003 Junior pair national champion.
Steven received his Bachelors from Eastern Michigan University in 2011 with a degree in Business Administration. He has over sixteen years of coaching experience and has taken students to Sectional, National and International events.

Kendra Pottenger


Kendra qualified for the US Figure Skating Championships 9 times in freestyle and pairs and competed internationally with Team USA in both the Junior and Senior levels. She is a 4 time national medalist including 2006 Junior pair national champion and also the 2006 Junior World silver medalist. Kendra finished her skating career with Disney on Ice as a lead performer in "Dare To Dream". She has 10 years of coaching experience and has taken students to Sectional and National events. Kendra received her Bachelor of Science from Eastern Michigan University in 2014.


Yaroslava’s students have medaled at ISU events such as Grand Prix, Four Continents, Junior Grand Prix and Junior World Figure Skating Championship. Her students have won titles in Juvenile, Intermediate, Novice and Junior dance at the US National Championships. She was also a coach at the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver.
In 2008 US Figure Skating Association, Professional Skaters Association and US Olympic Committee named Yaroslava a Developmental Coach of the Year. Yaroslava is ranked level VII with the Professional Skaters Association

Eliot Halverson


Eliot qualified for 7 straight US Figure Skating Championships in freestyle. He won the Junior title in 2007 and is a 3 time National Champion.
Eliot creates unique and innovative programs for each skater. His love for choreography shows through his fresh and modern perspective in skating. He always maintains a vibrant energy throughout the process that makes it fun for everyone.
Eliot has recently done choreography for Michelle Kwan, Ashley Wagner, Mirai Nagasu and Adam Rippon.


Christopher is a certified National IJS Technical Specialist in Singles and Pairs and a 2 time National Champion. He has coached his own students through Sectional, National, and International events and is ranked level V with the Professional Skaters Association . Christopher brings fresh and valuable insight during each visit and consultation.

Off-Ice Team


Dennie Jacques has been a Skate Technician for over twenty seven years. Pottenger Coaching trusts his sharpenings as well as all fitting and diagnostics of boot and blade.
Dennie has worked with skaters and coaches from beginner to National, World and Olympic levels. He was the official skate technician for the 2000 Synchronized National Championships and the 2002 North American International Synchronized Challenge.


Kristin's Creations has applied years of experience to become a figure skating dress maker. Since, 2014, Kristin's mission has been to assist each skater to bring their performances to life. Kristin will listen to your music and create a unique design to enhance the story told by the skater during their performance.

Enables the skater to do any jump on their normal pattern securely. Pottenger Coaching has experience with students training doubles, triples and quads

Online Coaching

Pottenger Coaching can do online coaching using Zoom app. If you have a regular coach, please make sure you have spoken to them before our lesson.

Off Ice Jump Class

Learning proper jump technique on the floor helps transition to the ice easier. Greatly improves progress and utilization of time on the ice
